Rock Island State Park was in dire need of a new Universal Terrain Vehicle, so FORI decided to fulfil that need by purchasing a 6-passenger/cargo 4-wheeler vehicle for the park. Under agreeement with park management, trained FORI Board members may drive the vehicle after signing a state Vehicle Use Agreement.
When FORI has need for the UTV, they may drive it. It is perfect for getting Lighthouse docents up to their jobs each Sunday and for moving the departing docents back to the boatdock. FORI also uses it during events like the anual picnic fundraiser and on spring park cleanup weekends.
When it is not in use by FORI, park staff and First Responders use it for park related chores and emergency services.
